Home-Based Biblical Discipleship Training

Train up a child in the way he should go...  Pro. 22:6

Providing support through  information on where to start and encouragement to keep pressing on.

Most of the parents considering homeschooling today were not home-schooled themselves.  Parents find themselves overwhelmed with the choices available in homeschooling catalogs.  They often choose curriculum that looks similar to what they remember being taught from.  Unfortunately these texts are usually made for Christian schools and not with the home school in mind at all.  Many parents end up overwhelmed and may even quit before they ever realize what homeschooling is all about.  Homeschooling is a completely different in process.  There are so many variables.  Homeschooling is different for each family because each parent is different and more importantly, each child is different.

Managing Home and School

preciousmomentsmommy“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”  Ecclesiastes 3:1  The biggest obstacles to successful homeschooling are not in books, curriculum, or extra curricular activities.  It is in the chaos that results from not constantly reevaluating our priorities.  Our God is the author of order, and He desires our lives to be orderly and neat as well.  Homeschooling is much more fluid when things are in their proper place and perspective.  This does not necessarily mean having an immaculately clean house, but learning to balance orderliness and flexibility in a lived in home where hospitality is part of life, and where life, based and rooted in Scripture, is our main resource in the education of our precious blessings.  This is the essence of Discipleship Homeschooling and simplicity is the key to opening the door to achieving true peace and joy in the home.

"    And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."  Deuteronomy 11:19
